He woke up on the outskirts of an unknown city.

There was a large bridge that led to many other facilities that was surrounded by water. Its structures looked as if they were all under construction.

“Nngh…”

Eii-Za stumbled to his feet. He was surrounded by a small sea of trees with the clearing right before him. His body was in pain, but he felt oddly refreshed compared to earlier. It was as if his mind was clear once again.

“Took you long enough to wake up.”

Misa leaned against a tree a few feet away from the raspberry while kicking her foot at a pebble that she kept phasing through boredom.

“You were out for half a day. That blast sent us pretty far.”

The battle between the raspberry and the illusionists went on for quite some time.

Although it was quite the gruesome battle, there was no real victor. The fight gradually moved away from the valley of nothingness. Before he knew it, his surroundings changed to that of a forest. One thing led to another, and the two sides were blown away to where they are now.

“What about him?”

Eii-Za looked down the hill that was to his left.

Rook sat in a crater, unmoving. He was as still as a rock.

“He hasn’t moved since the two of you crashed here. That curse is getting worse by the day.”

“Leave e’m. His magician pals are gone. We’ve got a tyrant to snuff out.”

“You don’t seem to be worried about whether you can do it or not anymore.”

“It’s only a matter of when. Now, where the hell did we end up…?”

The two left the crash site in the woods and trekked on to the city. Unlike in the Valley of Nothingness, there were no stray monsters or rogue denizens to attack them. The landscape around them was serene.

"During the fight, you…"

"You passed out, so I took over your body and continued the fight."

"Was my body your goal from the start?"

"A "Thank you" for keeping you alive would be nice."

They eventually approached a large statue with a familiar face. It reminded him of a certain ghost girl that only he could see.

“Ah…”

The bottom was written in Grralgian Language, but thanks to their merged souls, the raspberry was able to read it. “Aansamisa Xiquleduct, War Maiden of Xanadu.” Was what it read.

“Xanadu?”

“It’s the Domain I hail from— and use to rule until Yagaros destroyed it.”

“You have access to all my memories, but why isn’t it the same for me?”

“……”

“What are you hiding?”

“Four thousand years ago on this side, I was something of a prodigy in my peer’s eyes.” The silver-haired ghost began to talk as she hovered onward. “My powers were very rare for its time, so I was trained at a young age on how to fight against my wishes. I never had any real friends, and the Elderkins never allowed me to pursue other interests. They wanted to use me in order to take the Grralg for themselves. Despite their power, they were spineless cowards who were too afraid to take on the tyrant themselves.
